General Staff Classification & Promotion
All general staff deserve the right classification for the job they do.
Many universities classify general staff unfairly. As a result, many general staff are underclassified and forego higher salaries.
A key priority for NTEU in bargaining is general staff classification processes. The Union is seeking clear, comprehensive and objective procedures for classifying general staff. This requires that there be agreed position descriptions, a joint union-management classification process, and fair appeal rights.
